Directory systems that list websites on specific keyword or phrase searchers. Good examples include Google, Yahoo and Bing.

Optimizing your website so it is search engine friendly. Factors include meta information configuration and content manipulation.
OFF PAGE SEO
The process of building backlinks to your website to increase exposure online and rank high on search engines.
INBOUND LINK
The means of placing your website link onto other websites on the Internet. This is the biggest part of search engine optimization.
INTERNAL LINK
The practice of interlinking web pages on the same website. Excellent for navigation and SEO.
ANCHOR TEXT
Text that contains an inbound or internal link. When the anchor text is pressed, it will direct users to another website or web page.
META TITLE
The title that is displayed on the search engines. If no meta title is present that title of the page will be presented by default.
META DESCRIPTION
The description that is displayed on the search engines. If no meta description is present, the first sentence will be presented on the website by default.
INDEXED PAGES
Search engines crawl the internet and store information on the web pages of a website. The process is known as indexing.
PAGE RANK
PageRank is a number that's assigned by Google on all of its listed sites. This number ranges from 0 to 10, with 0 being the worst and 10 as the best. In traditional SEO, a high PageRank means that you get a high rank on the SERP.

Spiders refer to various types of software that collect information from sites and then delivers them to search engines for analysis and indexing.
